Classic!

I am astonished.

I went to see this event in the Cadoganhall in London yesterday. The Royal Philamonic Orchestra was playing the following:

  • Mussorgsky: Night on the Bare Mountain
  • Bruch: Violin Concerto No.1
  • Dvorak: Symphony No.9, ‘From the New World’

The highlight was undoubtedly the soli from Lara St. John. I have to admit that the real reason I went to the concert was Mussorgsky and Dvorak. Latter is one of my most favourite pieces.

However, being introduced to a phenomenon such as Lara on an unexpected occasion was amazing. It was mind blowing and touching. If you have not done so yet, I encourage you to buy a CD with her recording, as I certainly will!

And, I will keep an eye out when she is around in London next.

Man, that’s a fantastic line up for a concert, that’s for sure. I know you had a great time, even if you hadn’t kind of started to fall in love with Lara. :-)
