Google Hype?


It is Saturday morning.

I was in our Head office in York for a couple of days. Included was a night out where we came up with an idea of “product” that will be so stupid that we might be able to actually make money with it. Why?

I blame the Google Hype. You followed the hype after the Google Chrome release, the comments on blogs, discussions and interest in the industry and beyond. Google, turning 10 years on Monday, has revolutionized the way we use the web and that we use the web, too.

Now, Google determines which page ranks highly and which one does not. Ergo, if you come up with a site that will be linked to from around the world, that site will be worth money. So, really, anyone can earn money by creating content online that is linked to and then sell advertising on it.

Will life stay that simple?

I believe this coming week T-Mobile will launch as a first provider the “Google Phone” – I keep you posted.
