Lakeland Kitchen Shop

Yes, call me an shop-aholic. I love shopping if I am in the right mood, and there are a few shops I love going to.

One of them is Lakeland. You ever been there. It is awesome. They have all the kitchen gadgets and useful stuff you need. At the weekend I bought some microwaveable dishes. Cool!

Other shops I always need to go into are Tchibo but they are closing down in the UK (that is what I heard anyway). Shame. Going to their website they now have a European domain “.eu” rather than .co.uk. Not very search engine friendly but if they really withdraw their shops from the high streets, then fair enough I guess.

So these are my shop secrets. Lakeland is still my favourite. I love kitchen gadgets and love cooking. Although, tonight I rather go for some noodles, cannot be bothered cooking really. Sunday I suppose.

Oh, and before I forget. Lidl is another shop I used to like. Working against a lower profit margin than most UK supermarkets, they are opening shops everywhere at the moment. And, I used to love their weekly offers which you buy because you think that one day they could be useful. But, you never really use them. I actually stopped their newsletter now – maybe I am getting too posh for them :-) Still love their ham though.

Wakoopa – new tool

I admit it was not my idea to install it, but I found it at Matt Cutts blog (link in the side bar).

Wakoopa gives you an overview of which programmes you use and how often you use them.

Very interesting. I keep you posted with some screenshots once the programme has been running for a while. If you install it, please add me as a friend (ballueder) so we can share experience.

Maybe silly and not needed – but surely a lot of fun!

Weather Station – gadget

I treated myself to a new gadget.

I wanted to have a barometer, a humidity thingy and a thermometer in the living room. Unfortunately, no matter how much we would have been willing to spend, we could not find one that suited our furniture or tastes.

We plan to design our own one with some drift wood but that won’t happen until next summer, I guess.

For now I decided to go with a digital one. No barometer but it shows the relative humidity and the temperature. Also, with a radio controlled outside sensor, I get the outside temperature at the shed in the garden as well as the inside temperature. A little man on the display (see picture below) also shows me how to dress up and how the weather is going to be. A perfect gadget, isn’t it?

Thanks to the UK Weather Shop, the toy was delivered within 2 days.

coolest gadget ever!

Chumby it is called.

How cool is that. I want one of those in my bedroom or kitchen. A nice clock that doubles up as a radio, a newspaper and everything you like.

For me the must have gadget of 2008. Because it is cool, up to date and no one really needs it :-)

Can I get one for Christmas? There is a link for international orders.
