Another week being ill. It was a struggle this week as my cold (man-flu) seemed to get worse rather than better. Of course I survived but had some very tough days. Also seemed to have another stomach bug over the weekend, nothing serious but just not feeling right. Will that EVER stop
I stop moaning now, but cannot help it, can I? I haven’t been to they gym at all but was surprised to only have 100 kg on the scales. Maybe not eating all these greasy meat really made me loose some weight? Hopefully I can be back to the gym sometime next week.
Work wise this week flew past. Although a few meetings got postponed, we made huge progress and I am very pleased with it. Fingers crossed, I really enjoy it.
There is not much else to report from the week. I didn’t do much else outside work. However, Volvo Doves Croydon, our car dealer where we bought the car, pissed me off by not offering me the warranty they said they would. I escalated things and now got a 12 months warranty as promised. Still to hear about my promised 12 months RAC membership
I decided to wait until Monday lunchtime for them to call me back. However, I will have a nice blog post ready by then, and of course will make sure their parent company and Volvo will get a copy. I don’t like to be lied to. And, I expect better customer standard than that from an authorized dealer. Maybe my expectations are just too high.
Maybe some words about my wee man: Colin. He has been loosing weight, or really, he has been growing a lot. He is robbing around on the floor, still backwards. He is so much fun to play with, to look at or just to watch. He manages to move from one end of the room to another without any trouble but still needs to figure out how to crawl forward. He got stuck under the table today. The only drawbacks at the moment is him trying to wiggle himself out of getting dressed, changed and washed. He can be a real pain – but a lovely one of course. We really adore our wee man!
Then it was Jen’s birthday this weekend. We managed to get a friend to babysit so that we went to our most favourite Thai place in Beckenham. Jen also went for a head massage and pedicure and got a surprise present. I am getting better at this whole birthday things, I think anyway
We had a really good weekend, and enjoyed time together, although she didn’t feel too good either.
Off to another week. It is raining a lot and with the earthquakes and all you sometimes wonder about global warming. Or we don’t really, do we?

What a week. I know I keep saying that but it seems like one week tops another
A virus infection of some sort slowed me down Monday and Tuesday, and Thursday and Friday I had the man-flu. So I only went to the gym, or better say a swim, once this week. That disappoints me a bit but I shouldn’t exaggerate things.
However, on the business side of things, it was a successful week with lots of meetings, positive noises and lots of interest. The next two weeks are already fully booked with conferences, meetings and work related stuff. But I enjoy it. Truly do (Sacha, I mean it!)
My dad turned 67 this week (sorry for revealing your age), and we picked up a Volvo XC90 this week, guess that makes me almost as old as him – but not as wise of course
The car is great. My mother in law, my wife and boy went down to Rye on Saturday, and it was like driving a proper car. You can see the road, enjoy the heated seats, and it is just a comfortable trip. The 19.4 mpg are a bit too much, but we don’t drive too often, do we?
On Sunday, Valentines day, I got my wife these two ducks I was writing about the other day. And, of course, some roses. Some roses that could swim in the bath and double up as candles.
Sunday we planned to have a really relaxed day. However, I got food poising from the crab roll or prawn Jalfrezi. I was still sick in the afternoon, and didn’t feel well all day, so think that I will not be back in the gym as of tomorrow.
Have a great week.

Another week! With Monday having been a bank holiday, the week passed VERY quickly.
Highlights: I got myself an ipod nano 16 GB
Another Highlight: I finished my first 60 minute run for over 1.5 years and ran 8.5K
Ever since I got my ipod nano I am now ripping CDs to MP3. What a nice job
I think I should have sold them all on and downloaded the ones I wanted to keep. Not sure.
Other than that this week started eventful with me being ordered to the doctors. I had a couple of check ups and blood tests done and nothing major is wrong with me. So that is good news.
On Wednesday I met a friend I haven’t seen for ages and it was so good to catch up with her. We went to Hi Sushi but were a tat disappointed with the food. So next time we go somewhere else. I suggested the Thai place I went to a while back.
Thursday my Tai Chi teacher taught us a real awesome move. I will write about this next week, so stay tuned. It is called “parting the horse’s mane”. Very exciting.
The garden is getting along fine too. Again, I will post some more pictures and stuff this week. All Sunday, today, was spent in the garden. I grew more veggies as some died and put more flowers in. Also, had to cut the grass, got a trimmer for the edges and Jenny planted some strawberries. Yummy!
Honestly, that was most of the week. I am glad I am back to the gym with such a great success and hope it lasts. The insoles surely help. Life is really good to us at the moment. Jenny and the bump are developing fine and she will stop working next week. We are getting anxious and are happy at the same time. This is only the first….
So have a lovely Sunday night and a great week.
Love and Kindness,
Volker
customer service again – fitness first last

Hello,
I wrote about fitness first’s customer service before. Now, I decided to leave them and join my local council gym. It is cheaper, closer and it upgraded all the gym equipment.
After the last hassle of changing between clubs my contract got “officially renewed” although I have been with fitness first for quite some time. Now I have to wait for the minimum period to be over to cancel the membership, and have to see an adviser to cancel my membership too.
That is what I did today. And, I was positively surprised. I had to sign another form that says I want to cancel and not take the opportunity to sign up for some free stuff if I decided to stay. Got a temporary card and can use the gym until end of the year. Not too bad.
Will then join the council gym, Beckenham Spa, for £13/month less and it is about 10 minutes closer to home. What else I want. Happy days?!
Only problem: the time to use the gym
Have a good weekend
Volker
