Success – Positive Giving

After interviewing a good friend and successful entrepreneur on my podcast Stories of Success, he sent me an article and a link to the positive encourager website, which I read with great interest. Success, so far looking at only a few definitions from my podcast’s guests, has to do with encouraging people positively during our time on this planet. I phrase this a certain way on purpose, this is for the greater good of human kind, and NOT about short term financial gains. It’s about the great unconscious (Carl Jung) and the bigger picture. It is about finding people’s strengths, develop practical strategies and achieve their picture of success. THEIR success, is what THEY want to achieve. To be loved, live in peace, achieve a career, or whatever it might be. The same, according to Mike Pegg, who is the man behind the positive encourager, can be applied to teams and organisations. So in that context, we are looking at superb work, forming good habits (see my book), to provide a good service, achieve goals, and finish those activities successfully? As I go through Mike’s website, and I encourage you to do the same if you are interested, I find

Power of Intention

Instead of a Buddhist post I wanted to share a quote from The Secret. The Secret which is mostly about the Law of Attraction (LOA) – like attracts like. If you are nice to others, others are nice to you. If you are a good person to/in the universe, then the universe is good to you. A bit like Karma. You create your future with the power of your intention. Intention is simply the conscious act of determining your future now. Health, harmony in relationships, happiness, money, creativity, and love will come to you in the future, based on your intentions now. Intend every day and create your future life. Rhonda Byrne from The Secret. So this statement really drills on the LOA: if you have a strong intention to achieve something, if you put your mind to it, then you will be able to achieve it. You should not only think about it once, but you need to manifest what you want to achieve with all your senses. Put a picture in your head, imagine how you feel in the situation you want to achieve and how you might experience it. What would the smell be like? What would

Is it just me? Customer Service again.

I wonder lately. Three weeks ago I took my car to the garage because of a noise. When they found out it was the hand brake, they replaced it. I have been back three times, now a fourth time in order to get rid of some noises that shouldn’t be there. And, Kwik Fit clearly said they had tested it. How could that be? Then I went to the Slug and Lettuce in Beckenham today. I got a plate where half way through I noticed that the cheese had some mouldy bits (mozzarella for fajitas). When I complained I got an insecure “I am sorry” and then new cheese. The bill came without amendments, e.g. reductions. So I asks whether they wanted to review the bill serving my 2 year old and myself mouldy cheese. I got £2 off without a further apology. How rude! Then Ocado delivered the wrong soup. I haven’t had trouble with Ocado for a long time but now it seems to start again. Phil & Teds on the other hand responded to my enquiry about a not so well designed sun cover very quickly. Delivery for the new part took three weeks though but the
