2008 review

I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. So I sent some emails, some Christmas cards, made a few phone calls etc. but also, I wanted to write on my blog about the last year.

Looking back, now it being December, the year started off quiet-ish. Volker just started a new job which he absolutely enjoys and really settled into. His work has been both challenging and rewarding. He will definitely enjoy some quiet time over Christmas this year.

Jenny didn’t like the job she was in a year ago but changed to a much better job this March. She now works in a private hospital with very nice people. I have met them at a Christmas do – very nice and funny people.

What else happened? We had been together for 4 years in March, engaged for 2 and married today for 14 months. Time has flown past. Volker has been travelling a lot whilst Jenny found us a nice home and we moved into our own house in June. That was a big step and got completed just before the credit crisis. Not sure if that is good or bad, but generally speaking, we are very very happy here.

In September we got 2 kittens, Hansel and Gretel, who just as I write this entry get their cat flap installed. They are 5 months today and really need to go outside.

Then, for the last 16 weeks we know that our baby is on its way. S/He is supposed to arrive early June 2009.

So, overall a very busy year but a year full of happiness and togetherness. We are greatful to have our own place, kittens and a baby on the way. We both enjoy our jobs and there is nothing more to wish for – is there?

There always will be. A dog for instance (Wolfgang :-)) or a lottery win. We are grateful for what we have and hope to continue doing well for 2009. With the arrival of another Ballueder we are all very excited.

We wish you all a very happy Christmas, a good time with your friends and family. Stay healthy and have a great 2009.

We will surely place some pictures here over the next few days, so watch out!
