Buddhist Thoughts: Embracing the Challenge

If you can cultivate the right attitude, your enemies are your best spiritual teachers because their presence provides you with the opportunity to enhance and develop tolerance, patience and understanding.

– His Holiness the Dalai Lama

This might be a common sense quote but I personally like it. Any challenge in life is there to be dealt with. Only if you dealt with a challenge properly, overcame an obstacle, or solved a problem, you will personally gain from it. Also, you are then ready to embrace the next challenge.

And in this respect, an enemy is always an obstacle and challenge. With the right attitude you can embrace your enemy for the chance s/he gives you to practice challenges. Only your enemies can teach you for free how to develop tolerance, patience and understanding.

Embrace your challenges; embrace your enemies.

Have a fantastic day!
